Want to Learn What Defensible Space Means?

    DNR Defensible Space Guide

You don't need to clear every tree off your property to make it safer. The goal is to reduce the vegetation and fuels that can carry fire toward your home or up into the tree canopy.

Washington DNR has a straightforward homeowner guide that explains what to look for around your home and property.

    • Vegetation around the home
    • Dead limbs, needles, and debris
    • Ladder fuels
